Investing in the Future
"...Investing in our youth, embracing lifelong learning."
One of our key areas of focus is investing in the future through training the next generation the importance of biodiversity and food sovereignty. We believe that training the young children and and youth on the importance of responsible environmental stewardship is essential for shaping the future of our communities.
Growth Partners Africa is involved in a number of programs that support our investing in the future program which includes:
• Supporting Early Childhood Education: GrowthPartners works with communities to establish and support early childhood development centers. These centers provide young children with the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
• Partnering with Colleges and Universities: We partner with colleges and university students and engage them on contemporary issues of biodiversity, food rights, and environmental justice among other topics. This prepares the young minds to critically approach competing issues pushed by agricultural multinational cooperations.
• Promoting Lifelong Learning: We support lifelong learning by providing our young adults with opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge. We continue to seek opportunities to impact young adults, even after graduating from colleges or universities.
Passing it on
GrowthPartner's work on investing in the future is making a real difference in Kenya. Our programs are causing mind shifts around emerging issues of agroecology, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. Some of the young people that we engaged with during their college or university days are today passing on what they learned to their communities.
